Get organized!

In those hard and strange times, everyone is struggling wether it is mentally or physically, momentarily or more permanently, personally or with others…

We all have some issues to deal with and the conjecture is not helping.

After the summer holiday season and being back to work/ or to school after few weeks it is a good time to stop and reflect on what should we keep and what should we change in our lives.

The aim is to be able to do what you want to, without stress or replacing something else.

The first thing to do would be the study of your actual organization system.

If you want it to work you need a functional system of organisation.

1- Compartiment

You are a multi task human but if you want to do it all at the time you will loose everything.

You need to compartiment the different areas of your life in category : work, children, husband, sport, hobby…

And you need to organise them in blocks in your schedule. Yes! You need to have a schedule, electronic, paper, on your phone, on your computer, in you agenda, etc… Which ever works for you…

Once you add, one by one, the different areas of you life, block by block, on your calendar, you already know the time you have left for other stuff and when.

You can even add colors : one color for one area of your life (work : blue, children : green…) so you can have a glimpse at your schedule.

2- Be realistic!

When you make your schedule, take in consideration :

⁃ the routes to get there

⁃ the time to do what you have to do

⁃ the number of things you can do in a day

3- Don’t forget about the unexpected

Always live some room for the unexpected!

You never know what might happen ( traffic jam, transportation delay, flat tire, sick kid, injured dog, improvised dinner…)

You never know what might happen and as you know, things have a tendency to happen when they are not supposed to.

In order to be relax, take those potential unfortunate events in consideration, without starting to be paranoid, and make some room in your day for delay.

4- To Do List

Lists are your best friends!

You can rely on them, they always have your back and are always there for you!

⁃ When you have some thing in your mind, just write it down

⁃ When you start the week, you take your lists of things to do, and realistically, you put 1 to 3 things to do into your weekly schedule

5- Be here and now

Even if you have a thousand things to do all the time, and easy way to enjoy what you do and slow down time is to be here and now. Be fully present where you are when you are.

You will not be less late by thinking at what you have to do next. No. You will just pass next to what you do instead of living it to the fullest. And then moving on the next thing you do, etc…

Also when you are fully present, you act fully and with your full potential so you are also more efficient in what you do.

The most important thing to always keep in mind is that we are only human!

If you make a mistake, that’s ok!

If you are late, that’s ok!

If you loose something, that’s ok!

If you miss something, that’s ok!

Always be kind to yourself!

Always be proud of yourself!
